All prices on this site exclude packing and delivery. The packing and delivery cost will be emailed to you on request or within 2 working days of your successfully completing the checkout process. Your credit/debit card is pre-authorization in the checkout process and not debited until the packing and delivery costs are quoted. We will not debit your card without your confirmation.
We supply estimated currency conversions on products, these are for reference only. You will be charged in GBP.
Packing and delivery
Packing and delivery is free on orders of £1,000 or more.
Each ready made ship is packed in its own wooden create and secured within with soft ties.
Delivery is by City Link in the UK and FedEx internationally. We provide tracking numbers for all dispatches. Alternately, delivery can be arranged by sea freight if applicable. We are bound by the terms and conditions of our couriers and would pass the same to our client.
Delivery times depends on stock levels. Items in stock are usually delivered within 1 week, other items can take up to 20 weeks, this is because all our model ships are 100% hand made and may involve research and product development.
We will let you know the estimated delivery time within 2 days of receiving your order.
Payment
Your credit/debit card is not debited until you have confirmed the packing and delivery costs. Entering your card details in our checkout will pre-authorization your card, this is done by a off-site by own payment merchant on there secure servers. We do not hold any of your card details.
Ready build ships and kits: Payment must be made in full (including packing and delivery costs) before we send.
Custom build ships: Our payment terms are 50% of invoice value on order and 30% on approval of pictures and the balance prior to delivery. The full amount is payable if delivery is due within 4 - 8 weeks.
50% balance is payable upon approval of order.
30% payments with the model completed at 75%.
Balance due before delivery of the model.
Failure to settle payments within a 2 week period after the approval date may result in The Ship eStore offering the model for sale.
We accept credit/debit card and bank transfer (on request).
You the client are responsible for all international bank charges.
retains title to goods until all invoices are fully paid.
Returns
There is no automatic right to return goods or cancel orders.
The Ship eStore will charge 20% of the order value, in the event that we accept returned goods and cancelled orders, with a time limit of 3 days, once the model is delivered.
All other associated costs such as freight and courier charges are the responsibility of the client.
Delivery of Models:
1. If the model arrives damaged, please advise us within 48 hours of delivery. If the damage model is NOT reported within 48 hours, we are unable to offer any kind of refunds or return of goods. The courier receipt must be noted and all models must be retained in the original packaging for insurance purposes. We will require pictures of the damaged items. In the event of damage, an exchange of goods or repair will apply. The damaged items must be returned to one of our workshops. The return address will be emailed to you.
2. The recipient will be liable for any Local taxes or duties if applicable when the ship models are delivered internationally.
Custom/Commissioned orders
For custom orders, the specifications for the models are determined prior to raising the invoice. Any changes required in the model thereafter will be taken into account, but this may result in additional cost and build time. Some models include completing an MMD. This document forms the basis for the build of the model, and requires sign off by the client, and outlines what will be delivered.
It is the client's responsibility to check any research material (e.g. drawings and plans and pictures) that will be used to make their model. Failure to do so, may result in additional costs and build time at a later stage.
Disbursements incurred by The Ship eStore on behalf of clients who order custom made models cannot be refunded as full information will be given at the time of order. The prices quoted for custom made models are based on multiple models made thereafter. If the client would like exclusivity of the model to be made then this must be brought to the attention of The Ship eStore in writing and would be priced accordingly.
Clients are given pictures of the models at different stages of construction. In the event of no response / feedback within 10 working days, we will assume the client is satisfied with the model, and model build will continue.
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that any corrections are picked up when the pictures (and any other information) are sent. We may not be able to accommodate corrections that should have been picked up on previous information and pictures sent to the client.
Please note deposits are non-refundable in the case of custom orders.
Restoration work
The work to be carried out on the model will be outlined with the client prior to restoration. Pictures of the finished model will also be provided to the client.
Please note we can only confirm our restoration charge once we receive the model. Any additional charges will require the authorisation of the client, before any work is carried out.
Display cases
The exact size of the case is decided by the client. Whilst we can make recommendations on the size of the cases, the measurements given by the client will be used to make the display case.
Kits
Please ask for advice prior to ordering kits, especially as regards the level of proficiency required to build the model. The standard conditions as regards returns and cancelled orders also applies to kits.
Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions shall be construed and enforced in accordance with UK laws.
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. Changes in prices (increases or decreases) will only apply to new orders.
